Whether you're at home for the summer or you live in Greenville, nobody wants to stay inside all day! Here are a few outdoor activities that are guaranteed fun for you and your pet! We've also included some helpful tips to keep your pets safe, happy, and healthy.

Outdoor Activities with your Furry Friends

1. Make use of your old sprinkler system or garden hose. Your dog will love jumping to catch the water. Also, you can buy a kiddie pool for your dog to lay down or swim in to cool off!

2. Take your pet to an outside patio area, meet new people, and enjoy food or drinks. A few popular places in Greenville to bring your dogs are Basil's, Sup Dogs, Parker's BBQ, and Mellow Mushroom.

3. Bring your pet camping or go on a hiking trail.

4. Take your pets on a car ride.

5. Play a game of fetch or include your dog in outdoor sports fun!

6. Make frozen treats for your pet.

9. Exercise with your pets, go run, walk around the neighborhood, or even try a few yoga poses!

Cats enjoy going outside too! Here's two ideas to have fun with your cat.

10. Want to take your cat with you to explore? Purchase a cat backpack to help keep your cat secure and comfortable during the trip.

11. Build an obstacle course out of cardboard boxes for your cat to play in!

Tips to keep your pets safe outside:

  1. Pets need sunscreen too: In places without fur or exposed under skin, be sure to apply sunscreen.
  2. Check the pavement to avoid burning your pets' paw pads. If it is too hot for your hand, it's too hot for your dog's paws.
  3. Bring fresh water for your pet. Most pet stores sell collapsible food and water bowls.

We hope you enjoyed reading about activities to try this summer and how to keep your pets safe!
