Week 5 - term 1b

Week 5 was another great week for the class, not only did they continue to show how fantastic they are in Maths, English and Science but they also managed to squeeze in two non-uniform days!

This week saw the class working through some problem solving in Maths with Mrs. Bewick. They children worked in pairs to try and solve some tricky problems - they were brilliant and showed wonderful resilience and perseverance. The children followed clues to work out which Christmas jumper belonged to who.

In English, the class developed their oracy skills before writing up a response to the question “Do you agree that Mr. Tumnus should have been arrested by the White Witch for breaking her rules?”

We discussed the question in pairs, trios and groups before writing it up. It was pretty much a unanimous decision that Mr. Tumnus was wrongly arrested and imprisoned. His only crime was to help a lost child and be kind to her.

We continued to practise our drumming in preparation for the Christmas concert. The class sound absolutely brilliant and have worked so hard on their rhythm and timing.

A group of the class went to Science Club at The Centre for Life in Newcastle. They had to make a catapult before getting to explore the forces area inside the museum.
