Scholarships Make a Difference
Your support allows Northeastern’s students to undertake impactful co-op experiences, participate in research that changes lives, and dedicate their time to their studies instead of worrying about how to pay their bills. Receiving a scholarship also tells students that they aren’t working to achieve their goals alone. Instead, they have the backing of the full Northeastern network, helping them to make the most of their educational journey.
The financial support I’ve received from the scholarship fund has helped me have the college experience that I dreamt of in high school. The memories I’ve made living in Boston and the friends I’ve made at Northeastern have become irreplaceable.

In addition to wonderful extracurriculars, I have learned from professors who have not just taught me in the classroom but mentored and advised me so that I can pursue and achieve my goals. Every day at Northeastern has brought me friends, learning, and experiences that I will treasure forever. I’m not sure where the future will take me, but I know my time at Northeastern has prepared me to face the world and make my mark on it. I am truly grateful for the support you have provided that allowed me to receive this scholarship and have the experience of a lifetime as a Northeastern student, and I cannot express my gratitude enough.

Not only has this scholarship provided me with financial support, but it has also given me the motivation and encouragement to continue pushing myself toward excellence in both my academic and entrepreneurial pursuits. After graduation, I hope to return home armed with all the lessons and experiences I have gained at Northeastern and to use this knowledge to help businesses drive their technological innovations. One of my biggest goals is to assist start-ups and small businesses make more informed decisions by leveraging data they already possess but lack the resources to utilize.

The scholarship has made it possible for me to study abroad in South Korea this semester and gain a deeper understanding of a culture that was previously unfamiliar to me. By pursuing my studies here, I can learn about business and technology in one of the fastest developing countries in the world while also meeting new people and learning about Korean language and culture.

School is deeply important to me and the academic opportunities I have received are one of a kind, but being a low-income, first-generation student has presented its struggles. Having to support myself while living in a big city has not been easy, as there have been many times where I wished to be studying and getting ahead on work, but instead I had to be at my part time job to ensure I would have enough money to get through the week. This scholarship takes some of that weight off my shoulders. Having a sense of financial security is an immensely freeing and reassuring feeling. My appreciation is endless, as I am so lucky and humbled to be a recipient of this scholarship.

Being at Northeastern, the best lesson I have learned so far is how to stay true to my own needs and desires. I’ve honestly learned how to love myself. Through my experiences with people from many different walks of life, I have learned to be grateful for the opportunities I have been granted and to view situations with a more optimistic perspective.

NUSL has afforded me many opportunities to explore my interests and thrive, and I have been fully supported in these endeavors. Studying at NUSL is an incredibly meaningful experience: not only are there great opportunities to learn and engage with the law, but I am supported by brilliant faculty and fabulous, thoughtful students who have become dear friends. The people here make NUSL extraordinarily special.
