DEVELOPMENT GRANTS CRITERIA
Berkshire Tennis is keen to support venues, volunteers, coaches, and future coaches who are committed to supporting British tennis and increasing participation with the county.
Grant structure: Grants are available for: new initiatives within the club/venue, coach education and club/school links.
50% grant funding (up to a maximum of £250) is available for:
- Equipment for club coaching activities
- Mini tennis equipment
- Clubhouse equipment, signage, aspects relating to disability.
1/3rd part funding is available for Coach Education, regardless of level. The other 2/3 rd must be supported by the candidate and the club/venue.
Terms and conditions
- Application must be submitted prior to the start of the course.
- Applicant must be officially linked to a tennis club or coaching programme and say how long they have been working at the venue
- The Club must confirm that they will pay one-third of the cost of the course.
- Grants will only be released upon successful completion of the course – the applicant will initially need to cover the full cost of the course.
- Please send proof of completion and your bank details Berkshire Tennis to claim the grant which will be paid by BACS into your account
- We expect L2 and above coaches to attend our Coach Networking sessions and Coach Forums for CPD and provide details of coaching programmes they will be involved in at their venue following the completion of the course.
- You will also be required to supply evidence that you have a current DBS and have attended a Safeguarding course.
- Level 3. If the applicant ceases to work in Berkshire within 2yrs of achieving the grant, they will be expected to pay back 50% of the award.
£200 Club/school link - Primary school grant is available for new initiatives with Infant, Junior or Primary schools. This is a one-off grant to help establish coaching (preferably curriculum time support) for these schools within the county. A service level agreement will need to be signed between the school and the club plus one betwee the club and the county association.
£1000 Club/school link - Secondary school grant is available for new initiatives with State Secondary Schools. This is a one-off grant to help establish coaching (preferably curriculum time support) for these schools within the county over a 3-year period. Each of the 8 Boroughs within the county may access a grant. A service level agreement will need to be signed between the school and the club plus one between the club and the county association.
NOT considered: - court or clubhouse repairs or retrospective applications
Applications will be assessed by the county Club Representative Committee, and we aim to give a response within 4-6wks.
