Online Safety Week 5

This week in Computing, we have been learning all about online safety. On Monday, we discussed a very important rule of not sharing photographs of ourselves online to people we do not know. We spoke about how we can make avatars of ourselves instead, that don’t show our real life features and can be fun to make. We even had a go at using AI to generate our own avatars and they looked so cool!

We spoke about what personal information means, how it can keep us safe and that we shouldn’t share it online with anyone that we do not know. Afterwards, we designed our own online safety posters all about this.

At the end of the week, Year 1 found out what the internet is and how it works. We used the power of Google to search some fun facts and asked Google how old we are allowed to be to access certain apps. This helped us design our own table of apps that are age appropriate for us.

In English, the children have started a new story called Peace at Last. We have enjoyed playing the characters from the story and writing some superb sentences about Baby Bear and Daddy Bear!

In Maths, some of us we have been working with numbers and identifying which are greater than, less than and equal to.

Some of us have been representing objects using counters in 10 frames!

What better way to end our week of learning than doing a Music lesson and enjoying PE outside in the sun! Well done everyone for a great week. 😊
