As the weather gets warmer, it’s time to shed those layers and break out the bright spring colors. Pack up the coats, hats and scarves, and pull out the shorts, skirts and dresses. Here are five outfits to use as inspiration in the upcoming weeks.
1.) Classy and Cute
The traditional pairing of a chunky-knit sweater over a plain collared shirt never fails to provide a classy and put-together look. Layering on top of your favorite pair of jeans is also perfect for chilly spring days when it isn’t quite appropriate for shorts and a t-shirt.
2.) Festive Florals
Spring calls for anything floral - no doubt about it. High-rise, wide-leg jeans paired with a long sleeve floral babydoll top is a trendy but timeless option for a season-appropriate look. In the spring, floral patterns or other spring colors such as pastel yellow, pink, purple or blue are essentials.
3.) Spring Chic
This oversized overall dress with a form-fitting t-shirt is a great option for when the weather starts to get warmer. To elevate the outfit, consider adding a hair ribbon that incorporates colors from the outfit. Finally, pair it with your favorite pair of white sneakers for a casual look or dress it up with a pair of strappy sandals or boots.
4.) Classic with a Pop
Spring is a great time to experiment with bright colors. Try pairing your favorite pair of jeans with a basic white button-up (or a textured floral one like seen below). If you want to spice up this somewhat basic outfit and add that spring flare, style a brightly colored tank top, t-shirt or bodysuit underneath. Try out neon orange if you are feeling adventurous or stick to classic spring pastels.
5.) Preppy Edge
This look combines a classic spring babydoll dress with a standard leather jacket. Take two contrasting pieces to create an elevated and unique look that’s perfect from day to night. Pair your leather jacket with any plain-colored dress for a head-turning look.
When shopping to plan your spring wardrobe, you can never go wrong with classic pastels such as yellow, pink, blue and purple. Floral designs are traditionally in-style and sure to come back year after year. However, take the change in seasons as an opportunity to enhance your style. When it comes to fashion, you should always wear whatever makes you feel your best. These outfits are all suggestions; clothes are meant to empower you so remember to wear what you want, when you want and you are sure to rock it.
