The Center for Innovative and Transformative Instruction (CITI) invites you to the WSSU Faculty Festival 2022 on Tuesday, May 17, 2022. This year's event will be VIRTUAL.
What is Faculty Festival?
The WSSU Faculty Festival began in Spring 2019 as an event for WSSU faculty to showcase, share, and present the innovative and engaging instructional methods and/or technological integrations they are using in their courses. Faculty have presented in many formats such as:
- Teaching demonstrations,
- Pecha kucha
- Formal presentations
- Poster presentations
- Panel Discussions

Keynote Presenter- Dr. Justin Hodgson, Indiana University, Founder of the Digital Garden Initiative and Adobe Thought Leader
Enhancing Projects, Expanding Possibilities, and Empowering People: A Digital Educator’s Journey
Justin Hodgson is the Co-Lead of the Digital Gardener Initiative at Indiana University. He is also an Associate Professor of Digital Rhetoric in the Department of English at Indiana University Bloomington, Director of IUB's Online First-Year Composition program, the Founding Editor of the Journal for Undergraduate Multimedia Projects (jumpplus.net), and serves as an Adobe Digital Literacy Thought Leader. He was the 2021 recipient of IU's President's Award for Excellence in Teaching and Learning Technology and the 2015 recipient of IU's Trustees Teaching Award. Dr. Hodgson has published scholarship in print and digital form, championing both critical and creative engagements. His book, Post-Digital Rhetoric and the New Aesthetic, was published as an open access monograph with Ohio State University Press. Dr. Hodgson is active on LinkedIn, blogs with varying (in)frequency at justinhodgson.com, and tweets with less consistency at @postdigitalJH.

CITI's 2021-2022 Faculty Fellows have been engaged in projects relevant to active learning that have mock crime scene investigations for the classroom, using ocular headset simulations in nursing courses, and integrating Adobe tools in the classroom by nursing faculty.

How Can I Become a Presenter at the WSSU Faculty Festival 2022?
Are you interested in presenting during faculty festival? Do you have a teaching practice that screams student success? Did you integrate a tech tool, and it was amazing? Please consider submitting a proposal to present at this year's festival. Call for Proposals will be taken up until April 20, 2022 at 12 noon. At that time, the portal for submission will close.
