MY THANKS TO YOU
Throughout Burlington and Ocean Counties, 2021 was full of hardship, but together, this community showed our resilience and our ability to support one another. I’ve heard from people across both counties during my town halls, from small business owners, veterans, servicemembers, and families when I drop my kids off at school – this year has been hard. But we have endured. We’re recovering. We’re getting back to school, getting back to work, and getting back to regular life together.
Everyday I meet people who inspire me to serve. The teachers in our district who have been teaching both in-person and remote classes, the small business owners who have been managing the COVID pandemic while doing everything they can to keep paying workers, and veteran groups that are working every day to serve their community have shown me that our community is strong. Through it all I found and saw hope. I saw how we can be a community that serves one another and looks out for everyone’s best interests.

LISTENING and serving OUR NEIGHBORS
Congressman Kim and many of his staff grew up here, are raising or raised their families here, and are active members of this community. We are grateful to be a part of moving Burlington and Ocean Counties forward. We want to hear from each and every one of our neighbors. Your priorities, wants, needs, goals, and opinions help the Congressman and us better serve you at home and in Washington.
HOSTED 16 TOWN HALLS
When he was elected In 2018, Congressman Kim promised to hold at least one town hall every month. To date, the Congressman has hosted 45 town halls over three years—16 this calendar year alone. The topics ranged from the lingering impacts of Superstorm Sandy to the opioid epidemic to veteran mental health and COVID-19.
You can listen to our town halls from this year on our YouTube channel. You can also sign up for our future town halls here.
RETURNED over $12 million TO CONSTITUENTS
The most important work we do happens right here in New Jersey. In 2021, our casework team closed 2,662 cases, directly returning over $12,340,053 to constituents throughout Burlington and Ocean Counties. If you have an issue with any federal department or agency —from the IRS and Social Security Administration to the VA and Small Business Administration—we may be able to help. Please reach out to our office if we can be of assistance.
Congressman Kim’s office was overwhelmingly helpful. My problem was taken care of so quickly and efficiently, I was astonished. I can’t say enough good things.

Congressman Kim's office listened to my issue patiently and thoroughly. I could feel that they really understood. Once I submitted the needed documents to their office, I heard back from USCIS that my case had been approved the next day.

Serving a Moorestown family and a Willingboro family
In March, we had the opportunity to help Andrea and her family in Moorestown expedite their adoption papers and bring their daughter home.
We are tremendously grateful for the time and efforts Andy Kim and his team put forth to assist with the paperwork for our adoption in Ukraine. These efforts will reduce the time that a young teen will remain in an orphanage and will soon be in a loving home and safe.
In May, we had the opportunity to help Kelly and her family from Willingboro avoid homelessness.
I was in danger of losing my section 8 housing through The United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). I contacted Congressman Kim’s office and they convinced the state to issue me an extension to find housing so my children and I would not end up becoming homeless.
securing GRANTS FOR OUR COMMUNITY
We supported over 70 grant applications by townships, first responders, and nonprofit agencies by writing letters of support to federal agencies on their behalf.
Because of our advocacy, first responders across Burlington and Ocean Counties have received over $700,000 in grants.
SHARING RESOURCES AND INFORMATION
One of our most important roles is distributing and compiling accurate, up-to-date information and resources with our community. We currently share weekly COVID-19 and general updates, monthly veterans and grants newsletters, and quarterly information for small business owners and interested parties.
We heard from thousands of our neighbors about how difficult it was to keep up with COVID-19 protocols, vaccination guidance, risk levels, and more. That’s why we send out a weekly newsletter with all of the relevant national, state, and local updates.
I am the Chief of Mount Laurel Township EMS, and I receive the Coronavirus Weekly Update on a regular basis. I want to thank Congressman Kim for all the work he’s done for our region.

DELIVERING FOR VETERANS, MILITARY FAMILIES AND OUR JOINT BASE
New Veteran Health Clinic In Toms River
In August, after years of back and forth, Congressman Kim delivered a new $60 million veterans health clinic coming to Ocean County. He was joined by the Veterans Affairs Secretary Denis McDonough to announce the victory in August.
Since day-one in Congress, getting a new health clinic for our honorable veterans in Ocean County has been my top priority. The thousands of veterans in our community deserve a world-class facility that can give them the care they need right here in Ocean County.

308 cases closed for veterans
We go to the mat for our veterans. They served and sacrificed for us; now it’s our job to make sure we’re keeping up our end of the deal: providing excellent support and care for our veterans.
My experience with Kim’s office has been nothing but timely, responsive, reliable and satisfying.
Donald from Hainesport, who received our assistance with a Veterans Affairs claim.
SECURING WINS FOR VETERANS
Prior to serving in the House of Representatives, Congressman Kim was a civilian strategic advisor to Generals Allen and Patraeus and saw firsthand the sacrifices our servicemembers make for us. From working on legislation to help military families transition to civilian life, to improving healthcare access for veterans to securing a new VA clinic in Toms River, we work every day to repay veterans for their service and sacrifice.
In July, Congressman Kim secured $500 million for veteran suicide prevention and outreach programs in the appropriations bill passed by the House. The Congressman led the bipartisan push; 113 members of Congress joined his effort.
This funding for veterans, our servicemembers and their children, and individuals struggling with addiction will make a real impact in Burlington and Ocean Counties.

WINS FOR THE JOINT BASE
Congressman Kim serves on the House Armed Services Committee and works every day to make sure our Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst (JBMDL) remains central to supporting America’s national security interests and our region. In support of the Joint Base and the thriving economy around the base, Congressman Kim worked to pass the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) that secured vital investments in the base and our economy.
Congressman Kim secured $25.866 million for the Aegis Ashore system defense system, which supports hundreds of high-paying engineering and manufacturing jobs at the Lockheed Martin facility in Moorestown, and honored the sacrifices our service members and their families make through a 2.7 percent pay raise.
THE FUTURE OF THE JOINT BASE
We are thrilled that the Air Force sees JBMDL as the place for the KC-46 Pegasus mission on the East Coast. Not only is this important refueling mission central to our national security, it also allows our community to be a strategic point of operation. We have the capabilities now to support American servicemembers, personnel, and our allies across the globe. Together with JBMDL’s existing missions, it is clear that the future of our Joint Base is strong.
SUPPORTING SMALL BUSINESSES AND OUR ECONOMIC RECOVERY
Small businesses are the heartbeat of our communities and huge drivers of economic growth and job creation in our region. We work hard each and every day to support our local entrepreneurs and small business owners, provide them with resources and opportunities to grow, and cut bureaucratic red tape so that they can succeed.

House Small Business Committee
As the only member of the New Jersey congressional delegation on the House Small Business Committee, Congressman Kim is a fierce advocate for entrepreneurs and small business owners across the state.

100 SMALL BUSINESS CASES resolved
The Congressman’s office was an integral part in assisting me with obtaining my EIDL/Disaster loan! I am blown away by the outcome and cannot be more appreciative! After months of agony and struggling to keep my small business afloat, I can finally breathe! Thank you!

ALMOST $5 MILLION RETURNED TO SMALL BUSINESSES
Andy Kim's team was a godsend. They were able to work as a liaison with the SBA EIDL loan department to finally get me approved and funded. Without their help, I would be in the same boat as so many others who are caught in limbo.

SECURING economic recovery for shore towns
I’m proud to have fought for and won more than $12 million dollars in total loan forgiveness for several Ocean County seaside towns and schools. This relief is an important step in healing our communities, but there’s still work ahead of us. I won’t stop fighting until every single homeowner in my district has the financial relief they need.

BUILDING OUR FUTURE
This year we knew it was paramount for America to invest in our infrastructure. Congressman Kim proudly cast his vote for the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act that will create millions of good paying jobs. It will help fix roads and bridges, bring broadband internet to thousands, and includes Congressman Kim’s Resilient Highways Act that will make our roads resilient to storm weather.
LOWERING HEALTHCARE COSTS AND FIGHTING FOR OUR SENIORS
LOWERING HEALTHCARE COSTS
Congressman Kim’s Capping Drug Costs for Seniors Act would limit prescription drug costs for seniors by, for the first time ever, capping out-of-pocket expenses at $2,000 per year for seniors on Medicare. We’re proud it passed the House and are fighting for its inclusion in the Build Back Better Act currently being negotiated in the Senate.
In the same bill, Congressman Kim voted to finally allow Medicare to negotiate prescription drug prices on behalf of millions of seniors, make sure Americans with diabetes don’t pay more than $35 per month for their insulin, and expand Medicare to include hearing benefits.
No senior should be forced to decide between paying for their prescription drugs or paying for rent or food. We owe it to them to provide the peace of mind that comes with health care they can afford, and this bill would ensure that the cost for their life saving prescription drugs never spirals out of control.

750 CASES CLOSED FOR SENIORS
We’re working hard to make sure Washington is looking out for our seniors, while doing it ourselves at home. We have helped seniors across our community resolve cases with Medicare, insurers, the IRS and Social Security Administration.
I had an issue with Social Security deducting Medicare payments from my Federal annuity. Congressman Kim’s team helped me tremendously. If it were not for their intervention, my goal would not have been accomplished.

HELPING 701 SENIORS GET ACCESS TO THE COVID-19 VACCINE
During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, a group of seniors came to our office asking for help accessing the vaccine. Our office worked with several key stakeholders and organizations to help more than 700 of our most vulnerable neighbors get access to a vaccine and personal protective equipment.
THANK YOU FOR GIVING US THE OPPORTUNITY TO SERVE YOU EVERYDAY
I want to give my kids, your kids, and future generations a good economy, a safe and stable climate, and a future that they can shape themselves. It was my honor to serve you in 2021. I hope you have a happy, joyful, and safe holiday season, and wish all of my friends and neighbors across our community the very best heading into the new year.
