crawfish boil drink drive

In years past, the middle school grades would compete for an ice cream party by bringing in cases of drinks that we sold at Boil. This year, you get to skip the hassle of going to the store, bringing the case home and then sending it in with your child. You can purchase your cases online, and they are being delivered to the school for the event. But your child's grade can still win an ice cream party!

FREE tickets available for Willow students to attend New Orleans Opera's production of Puccini’s Madame Butterfly Wednesday, March 22, 6:30 - 9:30 pm Mahalia Jackson Theater. The hardship Madame Butterfly has endured incentivizes her to accept an offer: the opportunity to marry a man who will afford her the type of security she hasn’t known since the loss of her father. This offer becomes a lifeline and the stakes are high for the arrangement to succeed, but the longer Cio-Cio-San lets herself mistake fantasy for reality, the less she is able to accept the truth of her situation. New Orleans Opera has engaged a creative team who will tell it from both a female perspective as well as from the viewpoint of those of Asian heritage living in a white, European culture. Director Aria Umezawa and conductor Judith Yan will permit a fresh interpretation of this story – one that retains all of the grandeur of the original opera while presenting a more thoughtful storytelling practice, rejecting the racial stereotypes inherent in the work. The ending will be startling to those familiar with the classic presentation – one where Butterfly is able to finally determine her own destiny rather than be manipulated again and again by those who have controlled her choices. Sign up for your free ticket here: Madame Butterfly - Opera Sign Up List Then have your parent/guardian fill out this permission slip and turn in to Dr. Rota: Butterfly permission slip Any Willow student may sign up for these tickets. You must arrange your own transportation. Meet our school group outside the lobby of Mahalia Jackson no later than 6:30pm (inside if raining). Have your ride pick you up no later than 9:30pm.
