Faculty Retirements

Mark Maroncelli, Distinguished Professor of Chemistry, announces retirement after 35 years of service to the university.

Awards, Fellowships & Grants

Marty Bollinger honored with the 2023 Abeles and Jencks Award for the Chemistry of Biological Processes.

Lauren Zarzar honored with Distinguished Faculty Mentoring Award and the 2022 Camille Dreyfus Teacher-Scholar Award.

Denise Okafor received the NIH Director’s New Innovator Award.

Susan Sinnott recognized with 2022 AVS Medard W. Welch Award and the 2022 Faculty Scholar Medal.

Amie Boal received the International Society for Biological Inorganic Chemistry (SBIC) Early Career Award

Squire Booker honored with two awards from American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and the Hans Neurath Award from the Protein Society

David Allara, Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Chemistry, awarded 2022 Kavli Prize in Nanoscience.

John Asbury honored with the 2022 Distinguished Service Award.

Christian Pester honored with the NSF CAREER Award.

Joe Houck receives the 2021 Priestley Teaching Prize.

Scott Showalter named a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science

Jonathan Kuo received an ACS-PRF grant to support his work on "Biologically Inspired Ligands for Aerobic Oxidation". 

Eric Nacsa is awarded Doctoral New Investigator PRF Grant.

Mark Hedglin received an NIH MIRA Award to support his work on "Deciphering the progression and regulation of human translesion DNA synthesis.”

Ruobo Zhou received the NIH MIRA Award to support his work on "Deciphering the functional role of actin-spectrin-based membrane skeleton in subcellular compartmentalization of signaling proteins and cell signal transduction".
