Michigan Wrestling January 2023

The No. 3-ranked Michigan Wolverines kicked off 2023 with several commanding wins.

Jack Medley and Cam Amine earned top-five wins at 125 and 165 pounds, respectively, as Michigan rolled to a dominant 27-6 dual win over No. 14 Wisconsin on Sunday (Jan. 15)

In the rivalry win over No. 21 ranked Michigan State, the Wolverines claimed seven of 10 bouts, earning back-to-back major decisions at 141 (Cole Mattin) and 149 (Chance Lamer) pounds and a pin at heavyweight (Mason Parris).

Team 101 started their dual meet season in spectacular fashion with two marquee events in North Carolina.

The Battle at the Brag was held on Veteran's Day at Pope Army Field at Fort Bragg where Michigan had a decisive 26-6 win over Campbell.

Then it was onto No. 16 North Carolina at Chapel Hill for Doubles at the Diamond, where Michigan won 23-12

In case you missed it...

Mason Parris captured the heavyweight title at the Cliff Keen invitational in Las Vegas and secured his 100th career win with a first-round pin. The team took fourth place at CKLV.

RAMP UP the wrestling at No. 1 Penn State Friday, January 20th at 7pm. Watch it on Big Ten Network, if you can't witness it in person.

On Sunday, January 22nd, Michigan heads to Rutgers for a 2pm dual. Watch on B1G+.

Alec Pantaleo went 2-0, including a win over a world silver medalist to help Team USA capture World Cup gold!

COON IS BACK!

World silver medalist and 3x Michigan All-American Adam Coon has returned to the Cliff Keen WC!

Longtime USA Wrestling Greco-Roman coach Momir Petkovic, himself an Olympic champion and four-time world medalist, has joined the CKWC coaching staff and will personally coach Coon at the Bahna Wrestling Center.

Ben Honis will compete at the Italian Nationals and then meet up with fellow CKWC teammates at the Zagreb Open.
