note from the directors
The BTI staff is having a hard time letting go of the Class of 2023, but we are so proud of them. In this issue, we celebrate their achievements and give you highlights from their special graduation ceremony. We have also included a list of the impressive list colleges they will attend and abstracts from the semester-long capstone projects they developed in Biomanufacturing.
So many of our successes this year have depended on the generosity of our parent community. Parents, we appreciate the time so many of you have given to mentoring our students and providing them with unique opportunities to interact with professionals on campus and in the workplace. We also can't thank you enough for your continued financial support. You came through for us when we fell short of our goal and have contributed a grand total of $53,786 this school year. We could not be more grateful.
Special thanks to parent, Laura Bierwagen for serving as the Class of 2023 Parent Representative and as the BTI/CAF Liaison. We have appreciated Laura's dedication and wise counsel. She is graduating with her daughter, Kate, and we wish their family all the best. Many thanks, Laura! We'll miss you!
We are grateful to Ulla Foehr for taking on the BTI/CAF Liaison role. As CAF's past president, she has a wealth of experience to guide us forward.
This newsletter wouldn't be complete if we didn't include photos from our program's final lunchtime bonding event for the 2022-2023 school year. This month's theme was very unique! :)
Warm wishes and heartfelt thanks for a terrific year,
Susan Gold and Jaime Abdilla

seniors' capstone projects for biomanufacturing
Last month, BTI seniors presented their capstone Biomanufacturing projects to the tenth and eleventh-grade students and staff. We were all so impressed! Congratulations, graduates, and congratulations, Ms. Burndon and Dr. Kapp!
final bonding event: Cereal bar
We couldn't imagine that Costco would have enough boxes of cereal to feed our 150 students, but Ms. Abdilla had confidence—and somehow managed to fit them all in her car along with every kind of milk you can imagine! This was our final lunchtime bonding event, and our BTI family showed up in droves. Our beloved principal, Ms. Buckland-Murray joined the fun, too!
