Ysgol Bodafon Curriculum Offer

Laying Solid Foundations For Life

Ysgol Bodafon is a Voluntary Aided Church in Wales primary school situated in a semi-rural location on the outskirts of Llandudno, Conwy. We provide education for approximately 100 children from three to eleven years old. We offer nursery provision every morning and have on-site wrap around care. We also offer breakfast club each morning and after school club each afternoon. 22% of our children are entitled to Free School Meals (FSM) and we have identified 18% of our children as having an additional learning need (ALN).

At Ysgol Bodafon, we teach predominantely through the medium of English. The home language of nearly all of the children is English. All of our staff members can converse in Welsh and ensure the children are given opportunities to develop their Welsh language skills, embrace the culture of Wales and celebrate the Welsh heritage. We ensure we incorporate the principles of the Siarter Iaith into all aspects of our curriculum. We give the children opportunities to participate in URDD activities such as The Eisteddfod, Mabolgampau and residential trips to Glan Llyn, Cardiff and Pentrellyncymer. We celebrate Dydd Gwyl Dewi and other national events as a whole school.

Our Vision

On our learning journey, we at Ysgol Bodafon inspire our children to become confident, independent learners who strive to be the best version of themselves.

Our Values

Our Curriculum

A school’s curriculum is everything a learner experiences in pursuit of the four purposes. It is not simply what we teach, but how we teach and crucially, why we teach it.

"The Four Purposes of the curriculum - the starting point and aspiration for every child and young person in Wales."

Throughout the process of designing Ysgol Bodafon's curriculum, we have kept the needs of our children at the forefront of our minds. The process has involved all stakeholders; their views and opinions have been included at every stage.
