Reporting Student Absences
Parents can report their student's absences by calling the Riffenburgh Attendance Line 970-488-7936 or via ParentVUE (see instructions below)
Please let the Attendance Office know about ALL absences even if you have alerted the Classroom Teacher.
The following are important times to note:
- 7:40 am Cafeteria opens for Breakfast (Please do not send students to school prior to 7:40 am)
- 7:45 am Supervision on Campus Starts (If student is not eating breakfast, this is when drop off begins
- 8:00 am Classroom Doors Open
- 8:05 am Official Start Time, Learning for the Day Officially Begins
*If you arrive after 8:05am, please come to the front office entry to sign in your student and to choose school lunch (if wanted).
Change in Dismissal Plans
Please call the front office by 1:00 PM if there is a change during the school day and you need to communicate it to your child. Our teachers aren't always able to check email or voicemail during the day and so communicating it to the office assures that your child gets the message. We ask that you do this before 1:00pm as the end of the day gets busy in the office.

Classroom Treats
If it is necessary to have food in classrooms during school hours (i.e. birthday snack, holidays, special occasions, school events, etc.), only commercially prepared foods and packaged foods from retail stores should be served. Items must be commercially individually wrapped. As always, please contact your child's teacher prior to sending food or treats in.
Volunteering at Riffenburgh
If you plan on Volunteering at Riffenburgh, you must register or check that your status is current with Poudre School District (PSD) thru the following portal (renewals are every 3 years) before you come to school.
** Please remember to bring a Government Issued Identification (Driver’s License) (DIGITAL IDs are not accepted) to school when you check in in as a Visitor or Volunteer. This is a requirement for the Check In process. **
News from Health Office
Please send an extra set of clothes in your students' backpacks since it's muddy outside, and the health room doesn't have enough clothes to accommodate all the needs now.
FOR CURRENT 5TH GRADE FAMILIES
No Cough Drops in School: Students are not to carry cough drops in their back packs for use during the school day. If cough drops are required, there is a Medication Authorization form from the Health Room that must be completed for any medication to be given at school (prescription or over the counter). This form needs to be filled out and signed by the Health Care Provider and then signed by the Parent and returned to the health room with the cough drops in their original package. Once this process is complete, the student can come to the Health Room and the Health Room Tech will give them a cough drop. Mints/candies are an alternative for dry throats that can be carried by the student so they can use as they need.
News from Music
Hold the Date!
Happy Friday Roadrunner families!
We are having a spring concert for all 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade students.
Here's what you need to know:
Tuesday. April 25th: Riffenburgh School Gym
1st grade: 5pm-5:30pm
2nd grade: 6pm-6:30pm
3rd grade: 7pm-7:30pm
Students do NOT have to stay the entire time. After their grade has performed, they may leave. If your grade does not perform until later, you do not have to show up until later. Students need to arrive in the gym 15 minutes before their performance time starts. AFTER a grade level show is over, please grab your student and clear the gym quickly unless you have another student performing in the show that immediately follows. More families will be arriving for the next shows and we would like to avoid any time delays. Students are expected to wear "nicer" clothes or Riffenburgh shirts! Think something that would be good to wear to a wedding.
Please reach out to me if you have any questions!
Thank you and happy weekend! ~ Mrs. Clark
News from P.E.
To 4th and 5th Grade Families,
Thank you for getting so many of the forms to me this week for our track meet! The kids have been working really hard in class at both learning how to do the events, but also how to measure and time and I am really looking forward to seeing their hard work pay off next week!
If you are planning to attend I could still use some volunteers, sign up here:
If you are planning to come and spectate please make sure you check in to the office as a visitor prior to joining us in the south field/sand playground area. There will be cones and some flagging to designate competition areas from spectating areas. Please respect these boundaries for the safety and integrity of our competition as well as to be respectful of classroom areas where learning is still occurring. I will have signs labeling the different events, but please also see the attached map to get an idea of where you child will be for their events. 5th graders will compete from 8:30-9:30 and 4th from 9:30-10:30. For both grades boys will do running events during the first 30 minutes while girls do field events and then we will switch for the second half of our time.
I will be spending the afternoon working to compile the results and will do my best to get this information out in a timely manner as well as to get communication home to students who have qualified to participate in our district track meet, I hope to have this information out no later than Wednesday April 19.
If after our school meet your child decides they had so much fun and they have changed their mind about the district meet, I cannot guarantee that I can get them a spot, but if you let me know I can get them in if there are openings.
If you have any questions please contact me, but also please know that on Tuesday I will not have time to respond to anything prior to the school day or during our meet. Thank you for your support of our track unit it has been a lot of fun to see the kids work so hard and improve their skills.
