Safety Tech Challenge Fund - Randhir Shinde (Galaxkey) video transcript
Hi, I'm Randhir Shinde, founder and CEO of Galaxkey. Galaxkey is a data protection programme that provides end-to-end military grade encryption to corporates, to secure the data both in transmission and in store. The project that we have done is called a lock chat instant messaging platform. And the two technologies that we have used along with ours is called Yoti, an image analyzer, and ours is Galaxkey.
We got excellent support from ICO, GCHQ, and obviously the Home Office guys. It was really good working with these guys, we got to know where the government is moving towards and all that's going on in the public, how that is wrong. So yeah, it was good.
There is a lot of talk going around our own companies and sending out messages where, you know, if we have to do detection or see some detection is going to break encryption. I think that's completely wrong. And that messaging, people who are spreading need to stop that because it's not it's not true, we can definitely do detection and protect our children effectively with the apps without compromising, you know, our privacy.
I think technology companies need to sit back, not think about commercialisation or advertising, then think about okay, yes, technology can be used effectively. So I think that that is one very important message that I would tell everybody that you need to fix this message. It's not true that you cannot detect and protect your children by compromising their security or privacy.
The Safety Tech Challenge Fund was really good because it provided us a platform to create and challenge our limits in technology where we could extend that to create a safety net for children. And that's why I think it was good.
