Nyadjiko, whose real name is Raphaël Nyamien Djibril Koua, is a Franco-Ivorian composer and producer. He developed his own style and melodies from a young age, playing the piano and drawing inspiration from artists like Stevie Wonder, James Brown, Michael Jackson and Ebo taylor.
THIS IS NYADJIKO
With the guidance of his older brother, who is also a musician, he delved into computer music production under the alias "Tommy Djibz" and later joined a hip-hop collective. In 2003, after years of honing his individual style, Nyadjiko began collaborating with the producer duo Kore & Skalp. Then when they split, he followed Skalp, and thier partnership endured for approximately a decade, during which he composed well known artists such as Sefyu, Kery James, Soprano, Dry, Diam's, Médine, Kayna Samet, Team BS, Black M, Kendji, Amir, Florent Pagny, and Shin Sekai.
In 2016, Nyadjiko reconnected with Ivorian, Ghanaian, and Nigerian music. He no longer confined himself to R&B soul and "parents' music" but instead embraced his complete artistic identity. He even adopted a new pseudonym, "Nyadjiko," derived from the syllables of his given name. Around this time, he's introduced to Tayc by Barack Adama, former singer in the rap band Sexion D'Assaut that is starting a Music production Label, leading to their successful collaboration. Nyadjiko integrate Tayc's team as musical director, co-producer, and executive producer. They then produced a series of hits such as "Promis Juré," "C'est lui," "N'y pense plus" (Diamant), and "Le temps" (Diamant).
Empowered by his work with Tayc, Nyadjiko engaged in parallel projects with numerous artists. In 2019, he composed nearly half of the tracks on Dadju's album "Poison ou Antidote," including the diamond-certified singles "Ma vie" and "Mon soleil." He also composed several other hit songs such as the diamond-certified singles "Melegim" by Soolking featuring Dadju and "My Salsa" by Franglish. When Tayc wrote his short film "Mémoria," Nyadjiko seized the opportunity to compose the film's score. Additionally, he contributed to soundtracks for Netflix productions like "Girls with Balls" and "Christmas Flow," broadening his creative scope and demonstrating his ambition to compose for new genres and formats.
As a composer, songwriter, sound engineer, producer, editor, and executive producer, Nyadjiko has evolved and diversified his activities. However, above all, he remains a passionate creative who places quality and musical authenticity at the forefront of his work. He draws inspiration from the intensity of emotions and the depth of his cultural influences. For Nyadjiko, everything starts from a single note, and that is why, despite the evolution of his endeavors, he consistently returns to the piano to discover new ideas.
