Dear University community,

Our Summer Sessions continue…and with our current heat forecast, being inside has additional value. As you venture out, try to limit outdoor activities during peak heat periods, stay hydrated and apply sunscreen regularly. Hats can be more than fashion…they’re a smart way to add additional protection during our summer heat waves.

  • With TAMIU’s Fall 2023 semester just ahead, incoming freshman and transfer students will soon participate in our traditional Dusty Camp. This two-day student orientation experience prepares students for their first semester here, guidance on campus services and academic expectations, and a first-hand experience of student life. Get the Dusty Camp scoop here.
  • Our Study Abroad program students are spanning the globe this Summer. Check out where they’ve been or are going and think about planning your own adventure!

Registration for Summer Session II and Fall is underway. Summer Session II is Monday, July 10, through Thursday, Aug. 10. The Fall Semester 2023 begins Monday, Aug. 28. Find out more via the Registration Hub.

  • TAMIU offices and services close Monday, June 19, 2023, in an authorized observance of the Juneteenth federal and state holiday. Summer Session classes are also suspended.
  • Juneteenth serves as an annual commemoration of the end of slavery in the U.S. after the Civil War. This national holiday was signed into legislation in 2021 by President Joe Biden. Offices reopen and classes resume Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at 8 a.m.
  • Need a free COVID-19 Testing Kit? Pick them up at the offices of Student Health, and lobby/reception areas in Environmental Health and Safety (inside our Physical Plant) and the University Police Department.

Have a great week, Dustdevils!

“THE TAMIU-SANE program is blessed to work with 23 committed local and external partners to create a program that since its 2018 inception has successfully certified 36 OAG-certified SANEs.
