Dear University community,
I want to thank all of you: students, faculty, staff and guests, who helped to make this past Saturday’s Discover TAMIU a resounding success. Our campus was a beehive of activity as children, families and visitors of all ages explored over 110 activities. As we gradually move towards recovery from the past two years of Pandemic, it was truly heartening to see so many people on campus exploring the University, its mission and its ability to change hearts, lives, and minds daily. My thanks to the Office of Outreach and Pre-College Programs who champion and lead this event.
Please note that the University will be closed for the afternoon of April 15, in a System-authorized observance of Good Friday. Office hours and services will resume Monday, April 18, 2022.
- On the Friday night before Discover TAMIU, we welcomed the third visit and performance of the Dallas Black Dance Theatre. The 14-member troupe presented an incredible evening of athletic artistry that celebrated a mixed repertory of modern, jazz, ethnic and spiritual works by nationally and internationally known choreographers. The evening was hosted by the College of Arts and Sciences.
- Last week also marked the second visit to our campus by our Master Plan Team who met with the campus community to further collect information that will help them craft a ‘roadmap’ to guide change and make improvements to campus—landscape, buildings, and infrastructure.
- Students, if you haven’t already, please complete a short survey that gathers your important input to help guide our planning team on future recommendations. Your insight will help us plan TAMIU’s future. It’ll take less than 5 minutes to complete. Have your say here: https://forms.office.com/r/NC5yRFqg4f
