Inkourage The space where every writer grows.

It all started...

...with a simple question: How can we better connect writers? The question came after finishing my degree in Creative Writing.

I was lucky to participate in classrooms with attentive teachers and equally eager peers, and together we talked about craft, shared work, and grew as writers.

Graduation soon came, and while I pursued writing after the fact, it was difficult to find the same type of community.

What is Inkourage?

Inkourage is an online platform that seeks to connect writers struggling to find community, while teaching them how to give constructive critique and build stronger writing habits.

Why choose Inkourage?

Inkourage is a space for and run by writers with the same goals in mind: growth and community.

There's no likes, follows or algorithm here. Just people sharing their work in a welcoming environment.

Heather The Hobbyist

Heather is a hobbyist writer in her mid 20's. She works a full time job, and loves to write in her free time.

She'd like to improve her writing and share it with others. However, her tight schedule makes it difficult to attend limited time workshops, or to invest time trying new apps for writers.

She could really use a platform where she can reliably connect with like-minded people.

"I really wish I knew someone who loved writing as much as I do."

Pamela The Professional

Pamela is a published author in her 50's. She's written a few books, and has recently pivoted to teaching writing.

Pamela's class is all about creative writing. It's an entry level course with a range of new and seasoned writers participating.

She understands the value of good writing habits and critique, but is struggling to find a way to keep students engaged both in and out of the classroom.

Education should be engaging, and Pamela needs a solution that works for writers of any skill level.

"If I could pass on my love of writing to other people, that would be enough."

Noah The Newbie

Last but no least important is Noah, a senior in high school who has recently discovered a passion for writing.

Noah has always enjoyed storytelling in all its forms: movies, books, comics, you name it. His passion for all this media has inspired him to start writing, and he is very enthusuastic about it.

He has jumped into a number of online communities, but is having a hard time getting people to engage with him. He doesn't really understand how to critique or how to receive critique, and often times it leads to frustrating exchanges for both ends.

Noah needs a guiding hand and a welcoming environment where he can find his voice.
