Review of Remembering Nearfield by Flemming Blicher, Telecoms Engineer, MBA.

Remembering Nearfield simply made me cry the first time I watched it.
It is a very important animated movie about human sensitivity to radiation from a range of electric sources, particularly wireless equipment like mobile phones. I met an electrically sensitive woman in 2019 and I was provoked by her accusations that Wi-Fi, mobile phones, antennas and other sources of electromagnetic fields are dangerous to humans, and were affecting her health.
Imagine my initial scepticism. I have an electrical engineering background and was the Technical Manager for a department in the Middle East for Ericsson, one of the biggest telecommunication companies. I have also worked for three years as a sales engineer selling wireless modules in Denmark. When I was told that people could become really sick from the electromagnetic radiation from wireless products, I could not understand why I had not become sick myself, or any of my colleagues for that matter.
I was shocked to find just how much scientific documentation supports the electrosensitive woman’s accusations.
I’ve since examined the studies of the dangers of electromagnetic field (EMF) exposure and I was shocked to find just how much scientific documentation supports the electrosensitive woman’s accusations. Yet only a few are becoming so ill that it affects their life – not everyone becomes so ill that it is debilitating.
I have friends who are struck by this terrible disease, which is often referred to as Electro Hyper Sensitivity (EHS). With past experience working with wireless products, and being informed of the scientific studies, I’m compelled to advocate precaution as I know how dangerous EMF exposure actually is for people. Being outspoken about the issues is proving controversial and has put me against a very resourceful industry lobby that attacked me as soon as I opened up the debate – primarily focused on the absence of risk assessment for the 5G networks. The mainstream media have also attacked me instead of conducting deeper investigations into health problems that aren’t being discussed openly because they could damage the industry.
When you have seen the dreadful living conditions of people hit by EHS, you cannot just leave the subject and go on with your life. – Flemming Blicher.
When you have seen the dreadful living conditions of people hit by EHS, you cannot just leave the subject and go on with your life. At least I could not. Really, it is nearly impossible to help thiose hit by EHS, which is not recognized in the public healthcare system. Constant indifference from the authorities doesn’t help the poor souls or the people helping them cope. Recently one of the hardest hit EHS patients I know tragically died from the decreasing quality of life that EHS and related illness had brought him.
This is why Remembering Nearfield makes such a big impression on me. I hope this short, animated film will raise further awareness of the terrible potential side-effects of Wi-Fi, mobile phones, 5G and other EMF sources contributing to the increasing “electrosmog”. This radiation impacts not only human health and sensitivity, but has repercussions for the environment and ecosystems we all depend on.
