Project information
As part of the celebrations, local residents enjoyed live entertainment from party band Madison, youth dance troupe Attitude Dance, complimentary refreshments, local vendor stalls, and children’s activities including an inflatable slide, football shoot out, basketball shoot out, inflatable darts, and mini golf.
Through bi-weekly partnership meetings, OVH were able to bring together over a dozen partner organisations to carry out the event. In order to make the event as inclusive as possible for the community, OVH worked with ASDA's local Community Champion, Derby Park Community Volunteers and the Derby Park Bowls Club to arrange free water, tea, coffee and juice for attendees on the day. In addition, Group partners Sovini Property Services and the Netherton Park Neighbourhood Centre provided 200 picnic lunches for residents who needed extra support during the bank holiday weekend.
