Dear University community,

With the approach of the Fall semester now days away, we’re welcoming new students, faculty, and members of our administration and staff.

  • Move-In to Student Housing takes place Saturday, Aug. 26!
  • Are you a student looking for on-campus employment? The Office of Human Resources has moved the student employment process to Workday to help make the student employment process much easier and more convenient for student applicants.

Students can search for current job vacancies and apply for positions of interest, via Workday at:

The exhibit will show through Friday, Sept. 22. Admission is free of charge and open to the public.
  • What did you do this summer? Five undergraduate students studying Ballet Folklórico at TAMIU recently traveled to Mexico City to undergo a series of dance master classes at the Escuela de Ballet Folklórico de México de Amalia Hernández.
  • Registration continues and classes start Monday, Aug. 28. Here’s more via the Registration Hub. Remember: Tuition and fees remain frozen for the third year in a row, helping you to save on your degree. Here’s details.
  • Still pending that desired degree? Our “Closer Than Ever” program helps former students complete their degrees with new scholarship opportunities to assist TAMIU students in their comeback stories. Find out more.
  • We’re proud to announce that TAMIU has joined a growing number of Texas employers designated as Texas Mother-Friendly Worksites. Texas Mother-Friendly employers proactively support employees who choose to breastfeed their infants by providing time, space, and other support to maintain breastfeeding after returning to work.
  • Free COVID-19 Testing Kits are available at the offices of Student Health and in lobby/reception areas in Environmental Health and Safety (inside our Physical Plant) and the University Police Department.
  • Heading outdoors during peak heat periods? Stay hydrated and apply sunscreen regularly. Light-colored, loose-fitting clothing and hats provide additional protection during our ongoing heatwave.
