Welcome to Summer Term!
We have had a great start to Summer Term with the Kindness coach kick starting the week with a Kindness assembly where we started our 30 day Kindness Challenge. The children have been reflecting on their kindness and making a difference around school.
We also invited Richard O'Neill into school to work with the children. He will be working with us over the next year as we continue to develop story telling, how we tell stories, as well as writing them. There are some exciting things planned for the project.

School life
Year 3 have had a fantastic start to the summer term and have settled well back into learning routines. This week we have investigated angles outside, started our 'rags to riches' tale in English and began our celebrations for the Queen's platinum Jubilee. We can't wait to share all of our exciting learning with you.
This week Reception have been designing and making robots. The children have also been planting pea and bean seeds in the outside area. The children are pleased that the potatoes and onions we planted are growing. Next week we are going to be talking about vegetables and eating our 5 a day. We are also going to be talking about where our food comes from. If you could talk to your children about where the different fruit and vegetables they are eating come from that would be very helpful. Reception are planning to visit Monk Park farm on Wednesday 11th of May to find out more about farms and baby animals.
In KS1 we have an exciting start to our new English topic! The children went outside to find treasure from ‘Pirate Tom’, who had bumped into Miss Rose this morning. The children looked around the school grounds and finally found a pirate ship and a chest which contained three scrolls. We took one of the scrolls back to the classroom and tried to work out what the scroll said, as it was in pirate language. The children loved this and were very excited to discover what the letter read!
