What is Actively Learn (ELA)?

Actively Learn is a digital program where teachers can assign readings to their students. The readings can be picked from a group of 3,300+ with new texts being added frequently. From short stories, to current events, poems, and textbook pages there is a wide range of topics that can be covered.

There is a free version available to teachers and students to start their classroom use today! In order to get the full experience, the membership would be $40 +/- depending on the plan you choose.

ISTE Standards for Educators

  • 2.5.a Use technology to create, adapt and personalize learning experiences that foster independent learning and accommodate learner differences and needs.
  • 2.7.c Use assessment data to guide progress and communicate with students, parents and education stakeholders to build student self-direction.

ISTE Standards for Students

  • 1.1.a Students articulate and set personal learning goals, develop strategies leveraging technology to achieve them and reflect on the learning process itself to improve learning outcomes.
  • 1.1.c Students use technology to seek feedback that informs and improves their practice and to demonstrate their learning in a variety of ways.

CCSS Standards

  • RL.1.1 Ask and answer questions about key details in a text
  • RL.2.3 Describe how characters in a story respond to major events and challenges.
  • RI.2.2 Identify the main topic of a multi-paragraph text as well as the focus of specific paragraphs within the text.

But Thats Not All...

Actively Learn is not just for ELA, they also offer Science and Social Studies reading assignments. These two subjects are not included in the free version, so you must have a payment plan to unlock this.
