Congratulations to the Faubion Honors Orchestra for being invited to perform at the 77th annual International Band and Orchestra Clinic in Chicago in December 2023. This is a huge honor as only 3 middle school string orchestras were chosen internationally. All sixth and seventh grade students should be pushing themselves to try out for Honors for next year so they can be part of this once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Our Spring Rock Concert is coming up on Friday, April 28 at McKinney HS Auditorium at 7 pm. All students have received a concert reminder with the details that parents should have signed. The concert is a summative grade for performance and a summative grade for concert etiquette. All orchestras are performing at this concert and admission is free. If your child needs a ride to/from the concert, please communicate that to the directors so that a ride may be found. There is also a Beginning Orchestra rehearsal after school on Thursday, April 27 until 5:30. This rehearsal is required.
Our Spring Fundraiser/Donation Drive. kicked off last Wednesday through Up Tempo Fundraising. We have three field trips this spring to raise funds for and the cost of each adds up to over $50 per student--with almost 250 students, the costs add up quickly. We appreciate donations of any size. Every student has a specific link where they can get credit for donations. If you would rather donate to a generic and not student specific link, you can do that here. Thank you for your support!
Warmer weather is just around the corner and optional Faubion Orchestra Tees and Tank Tops are available for sale! Our Faubion Orchestra Boosters is sponsoring fun, optional spiritwear for students and fans of the Faubion Orchestra through Home Team Prints. You can shop online here for different styles (t-shirts, hoodies, long sleeve t-shirts, dry fit shirts, tank tops, baseball tees, etc) of each design--a new design has been added since fall. A portion of each sale benefits the Faubion Orchestra Boosters. There is no shipping cost when it is delivered to the store (located behind Waffle House).
Our orchestra website, faubionorchestra.com has many links with helpful information for parents and students. Also, Faubion Orchestra has a Facebook, Instagram and Tiktok account for fans/parents of the orchestra to follow. We encourage parents to follow us on these sites and "like" and repost all of the great things about orchestra. Having social media is NOT required for any students as we realize many students do not have social media accounts--and that is okay!
