A Walk in the Woods Feb 2022

45-50cm of fresh snow on Monday, another 5-10cm on Wednesday, sounded like a good reason to go for a walk in the woods.

The deer had been out of the trails after the first snowfall, They seemed to have worked out a passing spot....???

I seem to have a thing about beech leaves in the winter

Pileated woodpeckers have been hard at work on this tree

Bull rush cat tails frequently remind me of a humanoid character with a hood over its head and arms wrapped around its chest in the cold

Then there's that tree with many bracket fungus....

Interesting how the snow clings to the maple sap collection lines when warmed slightly by the sun.

It takes a lot to freeze over the nearby Almonte falls
