Summer is a time of fun, sun, and relaxation. It's a time when we look forward to vacations, road trips, and spending time with family and friends. But for many of us, the summer months can also be a time of stress and uncertainty. With so much going on, it's easy to feel overwhelmed and to lose sight of what's truly important. That's where having hope in Christ can make all the difference.
As believers, we believe that God is in control of all things, and that includes the craziness of summer. When we put our trust in Him, we can have peace in the midst of chaos. We can rest in the knowledge that God has a plan for our lives, and that He is working all things together for our good.
In the book of Proverbs, we read,
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths" (Proverbs 3:5-6).
This verse reminds us that we don't have to figure everything out on our own. We can trust in God to guide us and lead us in the direction we need to go. Another important aspect of having hope in Christ during the summer months is staying connected to our faith community. It can be easy to get caught up in our own busy schedules and forget about the importance of fellowship with other believers. However, when we make an effort to attend church services, Bible studies, and other events, we can be encouraged and uplifted by the support of our brothers and sisters in Christ.
Finally, having hope in Christ also means making time for prayer and Bible study. These spiritual disciplines help us to stay grounded in our faith and to remember the promises of God. When we take time to read His Word and to pray for His guidance, we can be confident that He is with us, even in the midst of the craziest of summer days.
In conclusion, having hope in Christ during the summer months can help us to navigate the ups and downs of this busy season with grace and peace. By trusting in God, staying connected to our faith community, and making time for prayer and Bible study, we can find the strength and encouragement we need to face whatever challenges come our way. So let us remember the words of Paul:

I have a love-hate relationship with social media. I love seeing photos of my grandchildren and great nieces and nephews who live miles away from me, a friend that posts a funny meme that makes me giggle, or even a cry out from someone in need of prayer. And Pinterest really gets my creative juices flowing! But if you don’t watch it, social media can trigger instant comparison at the click of a button or roll of a scroll. Social media has a way of emphasizing to our society a comparison mindset that sends untrue messages that our lives are tedious and boring.
I like what author Sharon Jaynes says about comparison:
“Comparison is the devil’s tool that he uses to undermine our confidence and kill our contentment like nothing ever will.”
Paul says in Galatians 6:4 and 5 that
“Each one should test his own actions. Then he can take pride in himself, without comparing himself to somebody else, for each one should carry his own load.”
Comparison isn’t a new emotion that has come along with social media, although possibly more prevalent these days. Even the disciples compared themselves to each other. Jesus set Peter straight in John 21:20-23. The thing is Peter obviously took Jesus’ word to heart because in Acts 4 Peter and John are a power team.
Bottom line is we are individually created, and we are God’s workmanship. How awesome is that to be just who God made you to be and not what is popular with society or trending on social media. Jesus came to show us how to live so if you want to measure up, follow Jesus’ standards and ways of living. If you’re not sure how to do this just open His Word and read it, it’s all there. Just live, learn and be who He wants you to be. The example of His life on this earth should encourage you and His acceptance will give you security when you feel insecure.
It’s not about your glitter but about His glory.

In today's fast-paced world, where distractions abound and attention spans dwindle, it is becoming increasingly important to instill in our children a strong foundation of faith. One invaluable tool to accomplish this is through the memorization of Bible scriptures. By encouraging our little ones to commit God's Word to heart, we are equipping them with a spiritual arsenal that will guide and support them throughout their lives. So, this summer won’t you partner with the Children’s Ministry and participate with your children in the Bible Memory Challenge?
Beginning Sunday, June 4th, we will begin a 8 week “Bible Memory Challenge” for children ages 3 years old to 5th Grade. Each age group will have various memory verses and special bonus challenges to learn. As students memorize scripture and report to our “Bible Challenge Listeners” they earn rewards and recognition. We will recognize each child who participates and have a final celebration rewarding our students efforts. A special prize will be awarded to one lucky boy and girl who complete their entire challenge. Students will be able to work at their own pace and pick the order they memorize their verses. Every student who completes their “Bible Challenge” will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win the special prize pack. This prize will be given out during church on August 6th. Packets are available in your child’s class or you can reach out to me and I will make sure you get one!
When children memorize Bible verses, they are not only learning words on a page; they are internalizing timeless truths that shape their character and build a firm spiritual foundation. By hiding God's Word in their hearts, children develop a strong faith, a moral compass, and a deep connection with God. Memorization makes it easier for children to recall these truths in times of need or when faced with difficult decisions, which seems to be happening more and more in our society.
Moreover, scripture memorization fosters a sense of identity within children. As they learn and recite Bible verses, they become familiar with God's promises, His love for them, and His plan for their lives. This sense of belonging and purpose instills confidence and strengthens their relationship with God.
May God bless each and every one of us as we embark on this beautiful journey with our children.
As we approach Father's Day, we want to take a moment to acknowledge and celebrate the gift of fatherhood within our midst. It is a time to honor and appreciate the fathers, grandfathers, and father figures who play a vital role in shaping the lives of our families and communities.
On this special day, let us extend our heartfelt appreciation and prayers for all fathers among us. May their dedication and love be recognized, cherished, and celebrated not only on Father's Day but every day. Let us also remember those who may be missing their fathers or experiencing loss, praying for God's comfort and peace to surround them.
As we honor our earthly fathers, may we also remember our Heavenly Father, who is the perfect example of unconditional love, mercy, and grace. He is the ultimate source of strength and guidance for fathers, enabling them to fulfill their noble calling.
May this Father's Day be a time of reflection, gratitude, and love as we express our deepest appreciation to the fathers who have impacted our lives. Let us pray that God continues to bless and empower them, guiding their steps and filling their hearts with His everlasting joy.
