Hondros graduates are doing amazing things far and wide in the nursing field, and we love to share their successes. Ashley Bussey is a graduate of our LPN and ADN program at the Maumee campus who is currently working as an ER Nurse

Being a nursing student is stressful enough, however there is a new conversation specifically about how healthcare workers are experiencing higher levels of stress and anxiety relating to their jobs. Burnout in healthcare employees, also known as compassion fatigue, has gained recent attention in how it is specifically affecting healthcare professionals. Learning the signs of compassion fatigue can help prevent or lessen the impact of burnout.

Hondros’ Student Support Counselor is here to help you identify the signs of compassion fatigue help give you the coping mechanisms and resources to make sure you can take care of yourself. You can read Shannel’s professional advice and tips on how to reconsider self-care to work for you here.

Please contact your ASA/ADON for resources or complete a Student Support Counselor Referral if you are experiencing unmanageable mental health symptoms and/or experiencing unsafe conditions that are affecting your academic success.
