Here is everything you need to know this month!
Community Updates
1. Happy New Year!
As the new year begins, we are filled with hope and optimism for a better world created by and for young people. We are proud of our community’s growth and achievements in 2022 and are excited for the opportunities to come in 2023. In the months ahead, we'll launch new learning opportunities and resources to inspire and support projects. We will also see the return of regional SHAPE events. Return to our newsletter each month for updates and information.
Here's to the work that lies ahead in 2023!
2. Curatorship Elections
All hubs must elect a new Curator, Vice-Curator and Impact Officer before 1 March 2023. Newly-elected leaders will start their mandate on 1 July 2023.
This day comes faster than you think! Curators should have already held a hub meeting to bring all members up to speed on elections and encouraged Shapers to run for a position. Candidates for Curator must upload their Leadership Plans to TopLink before 5 February.
Read our Elections Guide on how to run elections and submit results. Attend an Open House session (in January or February) to ask all your questions.
3. Curatorship Curriculum: Recruitment
Successful Curators approach recruitment strategically and use it to distribute leadership among hub members. Join our Curatorship Curriculum module at 14:00 CET on 26 January for tips and strategies! Find recordings and materials from past sessions.
4. Impact Curriculum: Create Inclusive Communities
We are a community of action. Join our Impact Curriculum session at 15:00 CET on 27 January to learn from, connect and collaborate with peers who are working on diversity, inclusion and belonging in their cities. These sessions are designed for Impact Officers, but all are welcome.
5. Best of TopLink
Do you want to maximize the features of your TopLink account for hub management and find opportunities for personal growth? Watch our TopLink tutorial recording today!

5. Register for the Annual Meeting 2023
Open Registration for the virtual Annual Meeting 2023 has begun! This includes you.
The meeting will bring together top decision-makers and doers under the theme Cooperation in a Fragmented World from 16-20 January. Be a part of it with us!
On the programme, you will find hundreds of sessions livestreamed direct from the Congress Centre in Davos, twenty-one hybrid 'hub' sessions that you can join virtually, and more. Shapers are invited to host watch parties of sessions to advance dialogue locally and amplify our delegation's messages. See our watch party guide and share your plans with us.
6. Host a retreat in 2023
Hosting a retreat for 2+ hubs in your nation, region or sub-region is a transformative experience that builds credibility for your hub, connects you to inspiring stakeholders in your city and strengthens the bonds you have with fellow hub members and Global Shapers.
If your hub wants to host a retreat in 2023, read our retreats guide and FAQ carefully.
