WINDY KARIGIANES
Greek, Italian and Portuguese descent: all in one elegant and sophisticated heavenly sounding body is: WINDY KARIGIANES. You can hear her cultural diversity in every note; mixing contemporary harmonies with vintage rhythms that one could classify as Soul Jazz. Windy is a lover of all music. She began her professional singing career at age 16 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
She is an accomplished songwriter as well as a visual artist. She is very passionate about many genres of music. From Country to classic Rock to Jazz and Pop. She is currently signed to a new record label ca( Groove Garden Records ) and has released her new CD Pacific shore . An album done in collaboration with Cottrell Alexander Dawson. Her original compositions are pulsating from her eclectic sensibilities. Throughout the years her musical journey has led her to co-writing with piano virtuoso Vernell Brown, Jr. on the widely-acclaimed “Butterfly” featuring Herbie Hancock’s Headhunters Mike Clark and the late great Paul Jackson Jr..

Windy has performed throughout the United States and overseas. Windy was born and raised in Las Vegas Nevada from a musical family. Her father was a musician, singer songwriter. Her mother, a great lover of music introduced her at a young age to the many styles of music and encouraged her to sing all of them. Windy began singing at the age of 16 professionally.
She performed with many bands along the Las Vegas strip. While she was not performing she was going back-and-forth to the San Francisco Bay area to spend time with her mentor music teacher Norris Davis who taught her the art of recording. Windy moved to New York City at the age of 21 and loved ventured out into the jazz venues.
Deciding the hustle and bustle of the big city was not for her, she moved to Los Angeles where she continued to write and record music with many of the jazz musicians that her manager introduced her to. She formed her own band and performed in clubs such as herb Albert’s Vibrato And The Baked Potato and many other venues around the Los Angeles area.
Windy returned back to Las Vegas and has always loved performing, whether it be at the Smith Center or a small jazz club, it is touching the hearts of others that brings her the most joy in life.
