Week 1 - term 1a

The first week back at school was a whirlwind of excitement and activity. It was wonderful to see the children's smiling faces and hear their stories about their summer holidays. We spent the week getting to know the children and settling them into their new classroom.

In history, we began the year by exploring the Anglo-Saxons. The class learned who they were, where they originated from, and the reasons that led them to leave their homelands. They were particularly interested in the challenges they faced during their migration and how they adapted to their new surroundings.

The children also demonstrated their enthusiasm for learning in other subjects. In maths, they showed a strong grasp of place value, and in English, they retold the story of Beowulf with creativity and imagination. We were also impressed by their physical fitness during our PE sessions with Mr. Walker.

On Friday, we offered a variety of enrichment activities, including cooking, art, games, and sports. The children had a blast exploring their interests and developing new skills.

A huge well done to Evelyn for being “Star of the week” - what a fantastic start to the year!

Overall, the first week was a great success. We're excited to continue working with this fantastic group of students and watching them grow and learn throughout the year.
