Ready to Start the Sewers
Site preparation has progressed quickly now that mass grading is underway, and the site has been cleared and grubbed. We have stored all the unsuitable soils on site to be utilized in non-compaction areas. As part of the clearing, the old house on the north side of the site has been demolished and removed per state guidelines. Temporary ponds are in and functioning as designed, and we have passed our first inspection despite significant rain in the Covington Area over the last week of the month.
We had a pre-construction meeting with Newton County Sewer and Water on the 25th where the site was released for the installation of Sewer and Water Lines. This installation will begin June 1st as most of the Sewer pipes have been delivered to the site. As for design updates, the architectural plans are complete, and a bid package was sent out on May 27th. Also, Progress Residential (our builder) has seen and approved the updates to the unit designs and renderings.
