We finished our history and science activities from the week before to ensure all children participated in everything. It was great getting to be archaeologists again!
Computing: programming on Scratch
This week we completed our computing topic of programming. We learnt about, and used, the software program Scratch to do this. The children all got time to tinker on the software and then they had a challenge to create 90 seconds of content. The top from each table then presented their creations to the class - it was great to watch them!
Our first class assembly
We spent a lot of time this week writing, rehearsing and perfecting our class assembly. The children learnt a song, practiced their lines, and finished work to present. This was also connected to our learning in oracy. We focused on the physical strand by trying to project our voice. It was a wonderful way to end the half term, everyone tried their hardest, and I hope those who were able to come and watch enjoyed it!
Exploring the library
As a class, we all went to the library to take out a book. It was great for the children to explore the school library and see all the amazing books available. Every child then took one of these to read over the holidays.
Halloween party!
We ended the term with a lovely Halloween party and some autumnal activities! It was a happy end to the first half term and the children all enjoyed themselves.
It has been a great first half term with lots of fantastic learning, have a lovely holiday and I look forward to everything else this year has in store!
