PIONEER PARK Home of Malone University Soccer and Lacrosse

Pioneer Park will forever transform the student experience for Malone students by offering modern and attractive outdoor spaces for recreation, club sports, intramurals, and intercollegiate practices and competitions, as well as career development opportunities through management and operational experiences

The Pioneer Park Competition Field, a multipurpose, synthetic athletic field is located adjacent to Route 62 on the Malone campus

The lighted field serves as the game and practice facility for the Pioneer men’s and women’s soccer teams, and enabled the University to launch men’s and women’s intercollegiate lacrosse teams.

Total cost of the competition field is $1.6 million, and was made possible through funding from the Hoover Foundation, Bill and Pearl Lemmon, Premier Bank, and Malone alumni and friends.

In June of 2022, the Malone University Board of Trustees named the competition field in honor of retiring President David King and his spouse and University Ambassador Winnie King. Dr. King retired in June of 2022 after 10 ½ years as president.
