As we move through the second semester and the cold winter months, we want to pause and celebrate the great work of our faculty and staff. As you will see below, the Teachers of the Year and Staff Persons of the Year for each of our buildings were recognized by their peers. This is an extreme honor and well deserved for the amazing hard work, dedication and positive attitude exhibited by these leaders.
We did take a big jump this year (due in part to the support of our community in passing the referendum) in providing additional compensation for our wonderful staff. The board not only gave the classified staff early raises, but they also recently added an additional stipend for these hard-working employees. Additionally, our fill rates for open positions have increased dramatically. With the support of the MV Education Foundation, we also launched “Your Money Line” to all staff for free financial consulting and support for student loan forgiveness. This can make a big difference in the lives of our faculty and staff. All of this is important in providing our students with caring and dedicated staff members who support their learning.
I want to take this opportunity to shine a light on our building administration. They are doing a phenomenal job supporting their building and the whole child. The board continues to provide additional resources when necessary and we have added twelve new positions to support student behavior this year with more additional positions planned for next year. As we all work together to meet the growing needs of our students, we are seeing success each and every day and those efforts are being led primarily by our excellent building administration!
