ND Loyal Roll Call!

Wendy Sigala Rubio

I can’t believe it has already been two months since I had the privilege of starting my career at Notre Dame! I wanted to take this opportunity to share with you a little about myself and my journey.

I was born in Northern California and recently relocated with my husband to South Bend from Reno, Nevada. Throughout my lifetime I have lived in two different countries, five different states and eight different cities!

I graduated from California State University, Chico in 2016 and then joined Kohl’s as an assistant store manager for two years and a store manager for four. During my time with Kohl’s, I learned about the importance of communication, team building, perseverance, and a little bit of fun with some friendly competition (which I plan to bring to the ND Loyal Volunteer program)!

I decided to join the Annual Giving program at the University of Notre Dame for many reasons. One of the most important ones is supporting our students. I was the first in my family to attend college and at times I thought that that dream would be unobtainable. My parents emigrated from Mexico, and no one in my family had ever attended college.

I will never forget the day Mrs. Fergullia, my high school counselor, told me going to college was possible through financial aid. Going to college and getting my degree not only gave me the opportunity to change my future and but also the future of my family. I have made it a priority to participate in youth programs and connect with young adults to help them find different ways to make education possible for them as well.

Now I have the privilege to continue this impact through my work at Our Lady’s University. Together, we can help students across the country reach their fullest potential. We can help them to become a force for good in the world.

I can’t wait to connect with each one of you to find different ways to continue creating impact together!

GiveCampus 101 - Training Opportunity

A consistent theme I heard throughout the survey I sent last month was a desire to have more training on GiveCampus. I am excited to share with you that I reached out to Jamie Williams and we are putting together a series of training sessions to support you!

Who is Jamie?

Jamie is Notre Dame's Partner Success Manager at GiveCampus and our strategic thought partner for how to best utilize GiveCampus! She has been with GiveCampus for 2 years, and prior to joining the GiveCampus team she served as the Associate Director of Engagement at Lake Forest College.

She is excited to see many of your friendly faces this summer for our virtual trainings!

The first session will be a “GiveCampus 101” where Jamie will take us through the basics:

  • Creating an account
  • Logging in
  • Navigating GiveCampus
  • Assigning constituents
  • Utilizing templates
  • Tracking constituent activity

Jamie will continue to work with me to put together a series of training sessions and also provide updates that happen within our GiveCampus platform.

Please click here to register for our 30 minute zoom training.

Friday, July 24th, 12:00-12:30pm ET.

If you cannot attend a recorded version will get sent after training.

2022 Fighting Irish Fighting Hunger Food Drive

The tallies for the 2022 Fighting Irish Fighting Hunger food drive are in, and the numbers are impressive. Last month, the Notre Dame community raised $23,269 and 140 pounds of food for the Michiana community, which amounts to 200,000 meals. This was accomplished through used book sales, art auctions, interoffice competitions and more. Donations were split between the Food Bank of Northern Indiana and United Way’s coalition of food pantries, People Gotta Eat. Read more here >
