Makey Makey Circuit technology in Studio Teach

MaKey MaKey is an awesome invention kit designed to connect everyday objects to computer keys! Using a circuit board, alligator clips, and a USB cable, the toy uses closed loop electrical signals to send the computer either a keyboard stroke or mouse click signal.

MaKey MaKey is a little USB device you plug into your computer, and you use it to make your own switches that act like keys on the keyboard: Make + Key = MaKey MaKey! It's plug and play. No need for any electronics or programming skills. It lets you transform everyday objects into computer interfaces. MakeyMakey includes programmable controllers and gator clips for creating circuits for interacting with digital interfaces. Circuits can be created with or without a digital interface. Simple circuits can be created with LED bulbs to test currents, using aluminum as a conductor, or to interact with Scratch software. Alligator clip to an object. When you touch that object, the computer thinks you're pressing the keyboard. By mimicking a keyboard and mouse, the Makey Makey lets you control any computer program with everyday objects.

A great video to watch to familiarize yourself with the many possibilities and endless creativity that can come from this technology!

You might be familiar with the banana piano already! It is a well known and recognized invention to conduct with the Makey Makey.
