  • It’s TAMIU Spirit Week, Feb. 13 - 18 with Renaissance Fair-themed activities across campus. See the schedule below and enjoy events like Medieval Monday, Kraken’s Karaoke, Crowns to Wings, Cart Decorating, a Renaissance Tailgate, Baseball, Basketball and Softball Games, and the presentation of our TAMIU Royals this Saturday! Join the fun and show your Dustdevil spirit!
  • The TAMIU Alumni Association returns to campus Thursday, Feb. 16 for an Alumni Basketball game with great prizes. Among fun-filled activities are a baby crawl and turkey leg toss competitions. Alumni registering for the event receive a replica TAMIU jersey, TAMIU Alumni promo bag, and are entered in several raffles to be held.
  • The International Leadership Series is this Friday, Feb. 17 from 11:30 - 12:30 p.m. in the Academic Innovation Center room 125 featuring guest speaker Carlos Malave, author of Translating Your Success. His topic Friday is Restorative Power. This Series is presented by the Office of Student Orientation, Leadership and Engagement. Reach out to them at sole@tamiu.edu
  • Take some time to experience the artistry of fellow TAMIU students with the 2023 Juried Students Art Show, Parameters, now showing in the Center for the Fine and Performing Arts Gallery (upstairs). A closing reception is Thursday, Feb. 23 from 5 – 7 p.m.
  • TODAY is the deadline for setting up an Installment Plan to pay your tuition. Payment plans can be processed online via Uconnect. See details below. Email the Bursar's Office at businessoffice@tamiu.edu, or call 956.326.2140 for more.
  • Tax season is here, and TAMIU’s A. R. Sanchez, Jr. School of Business provides free tax preparation assistance through the Voluntary Taxpayer Assistance (VITA) Program for qualified individuals in Webb and Zapata Counties through Tuesday, April 18 in TAMIU's Western Hemispheric Trade Center, room 126.   • While Spring Break is just around the corner, you can now consider your Summer 2023 course opportunities online via uonline.tamiu.edu
  • COVID-19 remains a threat here, across our State, nation, and world. Recommended face coverings/masks, and rigorous hand-washing help reduce your exposure risk. Learn about free on-campus testing and bookmark our COVID-19 Response Center.

TAMIU Celebrates with Renaissance-Themed Spirit Week

A very Renaissance-themed Spirit Week is happening Monday, Feb. 13 - Saturday. Feb. 18 at the University, with a series of coined events like 'Thy Taco Tuesday,' 'Rid Thy Plague,' a 'Swamp Rave,' and much more. It all culminates with the crowning of our newest TAMIU Royals Saturday, after a day of athletic events including Baseball, Softball, and Men's and Women's basketball games.

Additional Alumni Events Scheduled

The TAMIU Alumni Association joins us Thursday, Feb. 16 for fun-filled activities taking place during the TAMIU Women’s and Men’s Basketball game. Activities will include a baby crawl and turkey leg toss competitions with great prizes for the winners. Alumni registering for the event will receive a replica TAMIU jersey, TAMIU Alumni promo bag, and be entered in several raffles to be held throughout the night.

Set Up Your Installment Payment Plan by TODAY

TAMIU's online installment plan option is available to assist students pay their Spring tuition and fees. The deadline to sign up and pay before being dropped from classes for nonpayment is Feb. 13. The new plan helps to avoid long lines and reduces students' installments by subtracting the amount of financial aid to be awarded from the total owed. It costs $30 to set up the plan and it requires 25% as a down payment, with the other 75% due in 3 equal payments in February, March and April. Also, $100 late fees are already added to student accounts.

To set up an online payment plan:

  • Login to Uconnect
  • Click on "My Records."
  • Select "Pay My Bill."
  • Click on the blue "Pay Now" button. (You will be redirected to the payment site)
  • Enroll in a Payment Plan

TAMIU Music Majors Perform at International Saxophone Symposium

TAMIU music students recently performed at the 43rd International Saxophone Symposium at George Mason University in Fairfax, VA. Members of the TAMIU Saxophone Studio delivered two distinct performances under the direction of Dr. Sarah V. Hetrick, TAMIU assistant professor of Music in the TAMIU College of Arts and Sciences’ department of the Fine and Performing Arts.

TAMIU SBDC Offers Small Business Management Program for Future Business Owners

Starting Tuesday, Feb. 28, TAMIU SBDC will offer a distinctive program for entrepreneurs who want to start, expand or improve their business. The Small Business Management Program is a hybrid, classroom and online learning course delivered by business professionals including attorneys, accountants, marketing specialists, and certified business consultants. It includes 10 courses designed to assist business owners network, learn about relevant management issues, and define their company's priorities.

TAMIU Athletics Update

TAMIU is a member of the Lone Star Conference and competes in 11 sports: volleyball, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's cross country, softball, baseball, men's and women's soccer, and men's and women's golf.
