Our Services

Working across the Scottish Borders, Northumberland, and Cumbria we offer the following services:

Specialist Tree Care

As experienced arborists, we cover all aspects of tree care such as pruning, remedial works, storm damage, felling, dead and dangerous trees and also large technical dismantles.

We work with our customers and discuss how we can get the best from their trees, helping to manage trees that are stressed or in declining health, and if need be, propose how we can remove the tree safely.

Where trees are protected, such as by a tree preservation order, or where a felling licence is required, we would be happy to liaise with the relevant authority on your behalf to request necessary permissions to carry out work to your tree or woodland.

Forestry and Woodland Management

We love being in the woods, and for us, there’s nothing better than a well-managed wood that can be an asset to the land owner and the wildlife that inhabits it. Our woodlands here in the UK are diverse due to the varying geography, species distribution, and climate, as well as historical and current use.

To help get the very best from what your woodland has to offer, or to help manage it towards a goal such as the restoration of native tree species, we can provide and carry out management plans tailored to suit your woodland. This may include work such as tree thinning or removal, removal of non-native species, or dealing with damaged, diseased or windblown trees.

Winching, skidding and forwarding

Mobile Chainsaw Milling

We offer a mobile milling service where we can process your timber at your property. Our mill is easily transportable so access is not a problem. We can mill boards to a depth specified by you, and can currently process timber up to 1.3m in diameter.

Doing Our Bit for Trees

Dragon Wood Forestry are keen to do our bit in giving back to nature. We have an ongoing personal project to plant and nurture a new native woodland. We not only source locally grown trees but also collect seeds and grow our own to add to the new woodland!

Testimonials

"Kirsty, Richard and Frank did an excellent job. Professional, hardworking and cheerful, it was a pleasure to have such a happy team working on the tree. They managed to avoid the flowering snowdrops and aconites and dropped it perfectly in the field. And they ate up our left over Christmas cake - what's not to like! We are very pleased with the reinstallation of the fencing, the deposit of chips which we're using for mulch and the "handy sized logs" for splitting, cut to specification. The clearing up of the neighbouring field which belongs to a third party was astonishingly neat and thorough. All in all a most satisfactory service; we would recommend, heartily, the team to anyone looking for a similar service and would not hesitate to re-engage the team for other projects" - Dinah

"An excellent Job, very professional and efficient. Would highly recommend them for all your forestry and tree work" - Stephen

"Awesome job, quick, efficient and a thoroughly nice bloke" - Catherine
