Oxford Emory wins record seventh consecutive title
Peachtree City, GA: The Oxford Emory (GA) Eagles won their seventh consecutive NJCAA DIII Women's Tennis Championship in Peachtree City, GA.
The Eagles put together one of the most dominant weekends in DIII Women's Tennis History, by winning all six singles flights and all three doubles flights. Camden County (NJ) and Fashion IT (NY) finished the tournament tied in second place with 18 team points.
Eagles' championship streak continues
The Eagles looked to continue their championship streak and left no doubt on the courts that they were the best team in Peachtree City. It was the fifth time in that stretch that the Eagles would win every singles and doubles flight.
Freshman Grace Wang stepped up to the challenge of playing No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles and made the most of it for the Eagles. Wang didn't lose a set until the No. 1 singles championship match, which they won 6-2, 6-1 over Camden County freshman Madison Scambia.
Sophomore Lily McCain was singles and doubles first-team all-American during the 2021 season and followed that up with the same result in 2022. McCain was a first-team No. 3 singles all-American and played alongside Grace Wang for No. 1 doubles.
Camden County achieves best finish in school history, ties for second place
Camden County achieved its highest finish in school history, tieing for second place with Fashion IT. The Cougars saw freshman Madison Scambia and Bryn Kelleher lead the charge, earning second-team all-American honors in both singles and doubles. The duo of Analise Ramos and Selena Guerrero also earned second-team doubles all-American honors.
Fashion IT ties the best finish in school history
Fashion IT came in second place for the fifth time in school history, and it was their best finish since 2016. The Tigers saw two second-team All-Americans in both singles and doubles. Sophomore Devin Rotunno secured No. 4 singles All-American honors, while freshman Frederica Marlow was No. 5 singles second-team all-American. The freshman duo of Nathalie Camacho and Margaret Benedict were No. 3 doubles second-team all-Americans.
