This semester the bilingual course students showed all their creativity at the Festival of Nations. Each grade did some research into an English-speaking country and learned very interesting aspects. They had the opportunity to present their discoveries to colleagues in fun and interactive exhibitions. It was an enriching experience for everyone! Let’s travel the world with them?
Select a country to visit:
THE USA - GRADE 1
AUSTRALIA - GRADE 2
Kids from Grade 2 did an amazing job when studying about Australia. They highlighted the importance of The Great Barrier Reef, learned about native people, made models of famous buildings and also presented a cheerful dance to welcome the visitors. They developed many skills like speaking in public and group work, it was very positive!
ENGLAND - GRADE 3
Everyone became part of the royal family while visiting the Grade 3 exhibition about England. With love, the students made paper crowns as souvenirs. They talked about the most known attractions like the London Bridge, the Tower Bridge and Trafalgar Square, researched about British culture including their food and characters like Humpty Dumpty. It was a great activity to improve the four skills (reading, listening, speaking and writing).
INDIA - GRADE 4
SOUTH AFRICA - GRADE 5
Our trip around the world arrived in South Africa with the students from Grade 5! They explored a rich and colorful culture with an exhibition about typical clothes and culinary traditions. They focused on a festival called the National Arts Festival of Grahamstown. In addition, they designed posters with texts and pictures and made bookmarks in South African style as souvenirs. This event was a success to the students, they felt very involved in the whole process.
CANADA - GRADE 6
It was snowing in Canada! Grade 6 took advantage of Canada’s typical weather to create a funny attraction, the snow angel. The visitors loved it! They also learned more about the main cities, the difference between province and territory and traditional sports like hockey. It was really interesting because they got in touch with another culture.
JAMAICA - GRADE 7
SCOTLAND - GRADE 8
NEW ZEALAND - GRADE 9
Grade 9 took visitors to New Zealand! They exhibited facts about the different sports common in the country like rugby, jaffa race, boomerang championships and a typical game called Poi Rakau which could be tried by the visitors and was really fun! Watching the haka dance performed by the Maori people made the presentation even more exciting. The students participated with enthusiasm and developed communication skills, self-confidence and teamwork abilities while working in groups and helping each other. Well done!
