New Guitars for High school Music Elective
Edgewood High School offers Guitar I and Guitar II as elective options for students. The courses are an introduction to the acoustic guitar and a continuation of the process of developing as a functional guitarist by introducing more complex concepts such alternate tunings, different major/minor scales, key transpositions and power chords. The curriculum department purchased a classroom set of Yamaha classical guitars and students will no longer be asked to provide their own guitar.
District celebrates "WE Are edgewood" day
The SEL Department recently organized "We Are Edgewood" Day for the district. This day helped kick off the district's new common PBIS language of Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Safe #Together. Banners were hung in each building and all students were given paw print stickers to sign and place around the banner. The activity helped unify the district and show that we are in this together. The SEL department has follow-up activities planned for the remaining months of school to continue to promote the common PBIS language!
