Poetry investigation! To continue our learning about different types of poems, we had a poetry investigation on Monday. There were lots of poems around the classroom, including Kenning, Haiku, Tanka, Limerick and some others. The pupils had to read the poems and try to decide what type of poem they were. You can read some of these on seesaw!
We have been learning about and writing Kenning, Haiku and Tanka poems. Building on their learning from last week, the children wrote a poem about themselves. Everyone started by writing a Kenning and then some moved onto the other types. The class then had the opportunity to read aloud and practise their physical oracy skills. They gave one another feedback too. You can listen to some of these poems on seesaw.
English: Persuasive writing
On Thursday, we moved onto our next English topic, persuasive writing. We started with a cold task and connected it to our DT topic. The children either recorded or wrote their answer to the question.
DT: Wearable technology
On Monday, the class spent part of the afternoon finalising their presentation and rehearsing their lines so that they were ready to promote their product on Friday!
On Friday, each group presented their product to the class. They then had to answer questions from the class to ensure their product fit the brief. Everyone was fantastic and people showed great listening and used their best oracy skills.
RE: Is scripture central to religion?
Throughout the week, we have been completing our RE topic all about scripture in different religions.
PE: Dance
On Monday, we had dance for PE. This week was all about line dancing! It was great fun and the children really got into it.
Snappy the crocodile!
On Friday, we had a visit from Snappy the crocodile! The school House Captains had been completing a project with HealthWorks about dental care. They presented their work to the school in an assembly and then there was an activity to complete at lunchtime. Everyone really enjoyed it and got a free toothbrush!
