Tucker Antell

Tucker Antell was born in New Hampshire, and raised in Florida, where he began his career at the Bradenton American Legion Jam Sessions. While still in Middle and High School, retirees took him under their wings and taught him the ropes, which was invaluable early experience.

“Though I didn’t realize it at the time, the opportunity to play those classic standards every week with veteran musicians was one of the best ways I could have learned to play music and turned out to be one of the most formative and valuable experiences of my early years as a musician.” When it was time to attend college, Tucker studied with various masters including Jerry Bergonzi and George Garzone, before graduating in 2009 from the Jazz Studies program at the New England Conservatory of Music. Nearly 10 years later, Tucker is a highly sought after Tenor Saxophonist in the New England area.

Tucker has since shared the stage with many musical heavy-hitters, including Larry Goldings, Anthony Wilson, Hal Crook, Chris Cheek, Esperanza Spalding, Antonio Sanchez, John Lockwood, Bob Gullotti, Bruce Gertz, Bob Moses, Oscar Stagnaro, Al Gallodoro, Steve Hunt, and Alain Mallet.

In 2018 Tucker released his debut album on OriginArts records. "Grime Scene" features Tucker's hard-hitting blues-infused compositions, as well as thoughtful introspections that draw from his deep love of Blues and Jazz. AllaboutJazz.com reviewed the album saying, "Tucker Antell knows how to make an entrance."

While keeping a busy performance schedule, Tucker also teaches saxophone, clarinet, flute and improvisation throughout various private institutions in the Boston area, including the NEC Preparatory Program, Milton Academy, Merrimack college and most recently one of the Saxophone instructors at the ever-growing hub for all things saxophone: the Boston Sax Shop. In addition, he regularly conducts music clinics in local colleges and public school systems.
