ABOUT THE ARTIST
Dillion Nelson is a 16-year-old photographer who's currently a Junior at Art And Design High School. He has a strong interest in exploring different media and styles of Photography.
My friends in the photos, Ali, Elijah Josh, Omolewa, DJ, Fares and Emilio are the ones most seen throughout my work and are often the main subjects of my photography projects. It is fun to work with them because they can introduce me to new elements of photography and I find myself learning from them all the time while we all work together. In my work, I love capturing positive expressions in my friends because they do mean a lot to me, and to see them happy and make each of them look good while doing so brings a smile to my face. My editing techniques stem from a little bit of graphic editing and are inspired by British punk and punk zines. I wanted to differentiate my style of post-production from my usual process, since usually, the editing process in my opinion separates artists from each other, especially photographers.
This project was created in Future Imagemakers in the Department of Photography and Imaging at Tisch School of the Arts, NYU in Spring 2022.
