2022-23 AT A GLANCE

Women: AAC Champions, 9th at NAIA Championship

  • Milligan made its eighth NAIA National Championship appearance in 13 seasons and posted the team's best-ever placement at the national championship (9th).
  • The Buffs won five tournaments, including the AAC Fall Championship Preview and the NAIA Direct Qualifier/AAC Spring Championship.
  • The Buffs spent the entire season ranked in the NAIA Top 25 Coaches' Poll.
Senior Gabby Hammond was one of three Milligan women's golfers to earn Academic All-America honors last spring, along with teammates Alayna Perryman and Kate Castle.

Milligan won the East Tennessee Collegiate at the Johnson City Country Club

HEAD COACH TONY WALLINGFORD

Coach Tony Wallingford (Washington & Jefferson ’79) enters his 32st season as the head golf coach at Milligan.

Coach Wallingford is a 11-time AAC Golf Coach of the Year award-winner and has led the Buffs to 13 AAC championships.

2023-24 STORYLINES

  • Full Lineup - Milligan's women's golf team returns four members of its regular lineup last season.
  • In the Rankings - Milligan women's golf owns the ninth-longest active top-25 rankings streak in the NAIA (20-consecutive appearances).
  • New Faces - Milligan's men's lineup will see multiple newcomers after the graduation of several regular contributors.

KEY RETURNERS

Kate Castle

  • Junior Kate Castle earned NAIA Second Team All-American honors and posted a top-10 finish (T-7th) at the NAIA National Championship.
Castle was the AAC Player of the Year and set Milligan's single-round (-3) and 36-hole (-1) tournament records last fall.

Ty Beasley

  • Senior Ty Beasley is the Buffs' returning leader in average score (76.25).
Beasley posted a (-9) 135 to finish as the runner-up at the Northeast Tennessee Spring Shootout

2023 FALL SCHEDULE

SCHEDULE NOTES

  • The Buffs host the East Tennessee Collegiate at the Elizabethton Golf Club on Sept. 25-26.
  • Milligan's women open the season at the TPC Woodland Trails Women's Collegiate Invitational (Sept. 1-2), while the men begin the year at the Music City Fall Invitational (Sept. 11-12).
  • The AAC Fall Championship Preview for both men's and women's golf will be played at The Windermere Club in Blythewood, SC.
