THE Kigali Summit on Malaria and Neglected Tropical Diseases social media toolkit

introduction

The Kigali Summit on Malaria and Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) will take place alongside the 26th Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) on 23 June 2022. The Summit is hosted by the Government of Rwanda, and co-convened by The RBM Partnership to End Malaria and Uniting to Combat NTDs. The Summit comes at a pivotal time for world leaders to reaffirm commitments to end malaria and NTDs – diseases that afflict the lives and livelihoods of billions of people around the world.

The Summit is also a historic opportunity to show the world how malaria and NTD programmes “unlock the potential” of countries to build a safer world for everyone, everywhere. Taking place ahead of the Global Fund Seventh Replenishment later this year, the Summit is calling for investment in fighting these debilitating diseases. By beating them, we will be able to build more resilient health systems, improve pandemic preparedness and prevention, and support healthier populations.

The Kigali Summit will convene presidents, prime ministers, CEOs, philanthropists, scientific experts, global influencers and community champions, culminating in a high-level session and a Call-to-Action for world leaders. Throughout the day, high-level speeches, commitments, engaging content and thought-provoking discussions will highlight the action needed to end malaria and NTDs once and for all, with a focus on integration, innovation and new tools, financing, and regional coordination. The Summit will also feature performances from world-renowned artists of music, dance, and literature.

This toolkit is a resource for all our partners to use, providing digital content to amplify on your channels and support the Summit’s objectives. The toolkit will be updated with new materials each week in the lead up to the Summit.
