My project is about dreams versus nightmares. I think that dreams and nightmares are a big part of childhood. For my dream images I chose to use lighter pink tints while for my nightmare images I used red shades because red is associated with fear and lighter shades are associated with clouds, skies, dreams, etc. I used this color choice to help the images express more emotion. I hope that my nightmare photographs convey the fear that children have during their nightmares and how real and scary it can feel. I want my dream photographs to show how enjoyable and imaginary a dream can feel. This project is also inspired by childhood because often children are the ones with the most intense dreams and nightmares and it affects them the most. Although this project isn’t based on specific memories of dreams and nightmares, I hope that whoever views these images can connect them to their personal experiences.
