Dear University community,

We celebrated our Spring 2022 candidates for graduation in two ceremonies last Thursday at the Sames Auto Arena.

  • These ceremonies truly are our favorite times of the year and watching our candidates cross the stage fills all of us with great passion and pride. This Class of 2022, like others, was dealt the challenge of continued learning in a Pandemic and met that challenge.
  • The University’s dedicated faculty and student success teams partnered with them to provide guidance and resources to complete this milestone journey. Students knew they could count on us… and we knew we could count on them. Their futures, and all our futures, are measurably brighter for their strength, resilience and perseverance. Take a look back at ceremonies in our video highlight and see our Congrats Grads social campaign below.
  • Early voting is underway today only on campus. Please exercise your right and responsibility through 7 p.m. in the lobby of the Western Hemispheric Trade Center.
  • Maymester begins today and we welcome all students and faculty back. Registration for Summer and Fall classes continues. Use our new TAMIU Fund$Finder, a search tool that helps students find scholarships on and off-campus is available. There’s more at go.tamiu.edu/fundSfinder
  • Our Study Abroad program is back…and our first group of TAMIU students departed last Friday for Buenos Aires, Argentina. We hope they have a meaningful and relevant experience. See more.
  • Our Celebration of Life Memorial will be held Monday, May 23, 2022, at 6 p.m. in the Center for the Fine and Performing Arts (CFPA) Recital Hall. This year’s in-person event is the first since the two-year pause necessitated by the COVID-19 Pandemic. The use of masks continues to be recommended. The event serves to both celebrate and remember the lives of 64 alumni, students, faculty and staff who have passed away over the past year. Find out more.
  • Hours for the on-campus CURATIVE kiosk are as follows: Monday – Thursday: 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Friday – 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. For additional information about on-campus testing and vaccination schedules, go here.
  • Let’s continue the use of recommended face coverings/masks, in addition to practicing distancing and rigorous hand-washing.
  • The TAMIU Trailblazer will be taking a brief holiday for the remainder and returns Monday, June 6, 2022. Follow our social channels for University news and information.
