Process 1 Global Fund For Women June 7 - 11
When I first began working on Global Fund for Women, I worked on updating icons and graphs for both desktop and mobile to get a sense of the existing website. I created a couple versions and played with composition. I did these edits in Figma which was a very new program for me and was a bit challenging for me to grasp.
Process 2 Global Fund For Women June 14 - 18
Once I sent over the icons and graphs they were approved by my team and the client and I started working on the next phase of this project. Or and Ashley were the designers who were working on this project had an expected launch date at the end of June.
Or and Ashley would start QAing the website by taking screenshots of the site and the design from Figma to make sure they matched. If there were errors, they would upload with notes on another platform so the developer could see. This part of the process was something I’ve never done and I haven’t had the chance to work with a developer until this project.
Process 3 Global Fund For Women June 21 - 30
The week leading up to the website launch was a bit stressful because the developer wasn’t correcting errors as fast as we were finding them. There were sections of the site that just weren’t built out yet and wouldn’t be built till post launch. My role was to continue to find errors and log them for the developer until the website launches and then create a separate log for post launch errors.
Process 4 Global Fund For Women July 12 - 23
The launch went successfully! The next phase for this project is updating Global Fund For Women’s brand guidelines. This includes their new logo, colors and fonts that the studio created months prior and their use of photography and social media presence. Their current assets don’t reflect their recent change, so the studio wanted to give them guidelines on how to use their updated brand.
We started this project by doing a brand audit of Global Fund for Women's social media (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram) to understand what content they put out and how to align their content with their new branding. My role was to screenshot their social media platforms and research other organizations that have consistent branding.
Process 5 Global Fund For Women July 26 - August 3
After collecting all of my research, Ashley, one of the designers who was working on the structure of the guidelines, created a presentation for the client that had all of the research I’ve worked on. When we met with the client, my supervisor Ritik guided the meeting and after understanding the client’s needs for social media, I began working on creating directions for their Instagram. I used Figma to create these directions because the team has been using Figma since the start of the project.
Process 6 Global Fund For Women August 4 - 11
My team meets with the client to go over our research and design directions and they chose direction 2 which was a little out there stylistically and was very different from the website that was created by the studio. After this meeting I was put onto another project and I started to work on one of Global Fund for Women’s annual program Artist Changemaker Program. My role was to redesign their pdf, web banners, and social posts for Instagram. I started to take what I’ve been working on for their social media and applied it to this project.
Process 7 Global Fund For Women August 11 - 20
After showing my progress for the Artist Changemaker Program to the client and feedback from what Ashley has been doing with social media since I switched projects, they want something more grassroots, fluid and organic. Taking that feedback, I started researching images that align with their vision and started adjusting the pdf and banners. I used Adobe Illustrator to create shapes and took them to Figma to apply it to the file.
Process 8 Global Fund For Women August 20 - 25
Or and I met with the client to show them the new design and it was approved! I sent the finished PDF and web banners to Or. Unfortunately, I didn’t have time to get the social media posts approved because they didn’t have all the content ready, but the design I created was incorporated.
